Abstract: Hemangiopericytoma(HPC) is a kind of perivascular tumor arising from the pericytes of Zimmerman and rarely develops in greater omentum. It often has no characteristic clinical manifestations. The patients often have slowly growing painless masses or symptoms such as acute or chronic abdominal pain related to the masses. So the HPC of the greater omentum often leads to the misdiagnosis and it may be confused with other similar diagnoses with masses in abdomen or pelvic. The pathological feature is that the tumor is composed of a rich vascular network and the tumor cells arranging around the blood vessels closely.Surgical resection of the lesion is an effective treatment for HPC of the greater omentum, and long-term follow-up is required after surgery.
